THE CELEBRATION OF THE EPIPHANY IS TODAY

By JohnRHernandez@NDMC-INTERNATIONAL 2020 (c)

WHEN MANY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WORLDWIDE
CELEBRATE CHRIST’S BIRTH!

“Today my ancestors celebrated Christmas as I still do. They called it the Epiphany when the Three Kings went to visit Baby Jesus.

Like many other holidays Spaniards would share a feast with loved ones; in the Cariberan rice, beans, plantains, pasteles, and other dishes would be served during meals.

It is a huge celebration in many places through the world by millions of people. When I was a little boy my family celebrated it.

The children would place a little box under their beds often with grass clippings to be given to the camels the Kings traveled on to visit Jesus.

Every country that commerates this Epiphani does it differently but it’s all about Christ birth.

To always remind us of our ancestors who celebrated before us and for us to continue to keep the commemoration of Jesus Birth.

The food shared on this holiday vary by region. So depending on where you live that determines what it will be like.” JRH-NDMC-INTERNATIONAL 2020 (c) January 6th

What food is eaten on Three Kings Day?
Rice, With Legumes or Corn. Traditional side dishes for a Three Kings Day meal are black beans and rice, which are also staple accompaniments for many Spanish-influenced daily meals. However, some families have a tradition of serving the rice with peas or corn niblets instead.
